Last week the French Forum des Républicains Sociaux decided to change the name of their party into Parti Chrétien-Démocrate. The FRS, now PCD, is a co-founder of the ruling UMP and was allready known for its Christian-Democratic stances. The leader of the PCD is currently Minister of Housing and Cities. The party is three members of the National Assembly and numerous regional and local elected representatives.
The change of name from FRS to PCD is intended for being more explicit about what the party stands for and represents within the UMP and in the political and societal debate and discourse.
The new website of the party can be found here: http://www.partichretiendemocrate.fr/
